Services and local authorities

Local third sector bodies and services are the offices which one can contact to propose one’s requests in the administrative field.
•    Comune (Municipality) or Municipio (Townhall) manages the territory and provides the services related to it, e.g: a citizen contacts it for an identity card, residence, to ask for help from social services, for services on primary schools, to have access to information offices (Center for families, Help desks for foreigners, Help desks for the elderly, Services for the disabled);
•    Prefettura (Prefecture) and Questura (Police Headquarters), bodies of the Ministry of the Interior, deal with services and paperwork for foreign citizens (Immigration Office and SUI desk) and documentation and public security services, such as the complaint office and the passport office;
•    Centro per l’impiego (Employment Centre), INPS and INAIL are bodies that deal with the field of work and social security (pensions, bonuses, accidents), also some service offices deal with these areas: the Informagiovani for work, the Patronati for requests to INPS and the registration of domestic contracts, the INAIL is connected to the health services therefore to the ASL;
•    Caritas and the Social Services of the municipalities deal with situations of poverty and support for families and the disabled;
•    CAF, Sindacati (trade unions) and Consumer Associations deal with services for workers, tax issues (tax returns) and issues related to paid services (appeals, fines, etc.).
